Message from the President

In 1870, three years after the Port of Kobe opened, our founder, Rokubei Morimoto, began to rent out one of his Sake brewery storehouses. This lead to the beginning of our warehousing business.
From then, the company grew along with the development of Kobe Port. In the Taisho period (1912-1926), a quay and sidetrack for freight cars were completed as our private use at the mouth of Ikuta River. From that point, the company rapidly advanced to managing 220 warehouses (56,860m²) in Kobe.
In 1945, we lost 80% of the warehouses in fires during the war. However, we recovered steadily and developed even further. The Port of Kobe has experienced many setbacks and misfortunes as has Moriomoto Warehouse. In 1995, due to the Hanshin Awaji Earthquake, much of Kobe Port was damaged and during the recovery period after the earthquake through our logistics, we helped support Kobe City. As we move forward, we continue to support the development of the Kobe and Kansai economic zones. Morimoto warehouse and Kobe Port have grown and developed together and we look forward to many prosperous years together.
We will continue to operate in Kobe, and contribute to the realization of a more prosperous society with our warehousing and real estate businesses, which have developed through tradition and trust.
